Practical information
How to get to the Retreat venue:
Scandic Havna Hotel is situated at the island of Tjøme and is connected with bridges to the mainland. 30 minutes by car from Tønsberg. So, first you must get to Tønsberg, then drive or take bus or taxi to Havna Hotel, Tjøme.
Getting to Tønsberg:
- Tønsberg is a little more than an hour by car or train from Oslo.
- Oslo Gardermoen International Airport [OSL], with global connections from everywhere. Direct train service to Tønsberg, leaving 13 min past every hour (1 hr. 37 min ride)
- Oslo Sandefjord Torp International Airport [TRF], has direct flights from several European cities, including London Stansted, Manchester, Amsterdam and Copenhagen, as well as most Norwegian cities. (20 min ride to Tønsberg).
- There is a frequent shuttle service from Sandefjord Torp to the nearby train station, to take you to Tønsberg. The free shuttle takes 4 minutes + train 15 minutes. Departure every hour.
- Coming from Denmark by car: Ferry connection from Hirtshals to Larvik (which is 40 min drive from Tønsberg). Or from Copenhagen and Fredrikshavn to Oslo.
- Ferry from Strømstad, Sweden, to Sandefjord, (25 min drive from Tønsberg.)
The retreat starts with lunch, at 13:00, on Thursday 30 September 2021 and ends after lunch on Sunday 3 October 2021.
How to get from Tønsberg to Havna Hotel, Tjøme
Bus (The bus station is 3 min walk from the train station.): Take bus No. 02 to Tjøme-Sandøsund, leaves Tønsberg Bus station every full hour from 07.00 till 19.00.
- Change bus at Sundene (after 24 minutes ride)
- Then get on bus No. 022 to ‘Verdens Ende’. Leaves every 28 min after the full hour.
- After app 15 min, get off at the road leading to Havna Hotel, then walk 7 min to the hotel (500 meters).

For the return after lunch on Sunday we can also organize maxi-taxies for people to share a ride.
Extended stay:
If you like to arrive the day before, or want to stay until next day, you have several options
- You can go directly to the retreat venue and settle in before the retreat. Extra nights incl. breakfast is NOK 740 per person (single room). You can then buy dinner at the hotel restaurant. (Just let Tore know if you want extra nights, and he will book for you)
- You can also choose to stay over in Tønsberg. Nice and fairly reasonable hotels along the Tønsberg seashore (make your own booking): Hotel Klubben ; Thon Hotel Tønsberg Brygge
Covid-19 regulations on Travel to Norway
Foreign nationals who are fully vaccinated or who have recovered from COVID-19 in the past 6 months and who can document this with a COVID-19 certificate that is connected to the EUDCC gateway.
From all EU/EEA/Schengen countries – and England, Wales, and Northern Ireland:
If you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or recovered from COVID-19 during the last six months, you can travel to Norway now if you can provide documentation for this in a verifiable way. You must be able to:
- Present a Norwegian, Swedish, or Danish COVID-19 certificate with a QR code that can be verified by the Norwegian authorities, or
- present a COVID-19 certificate following the EU rules for digital corona certificates
- If travelling from UK: the digital NHS COVID Pass from England, Wales, Northern Ireland. Norway can only verify COVID certificates including a QR code, and you cannot use the paper version of the NHS COVID pass to enter Norway.
